WHAT IS FUTURE BUILDERS?

It could be ...

  • Equipping for your calling
  • A Gap year opportunity
  • An Apprenticeship style training course in children's ministry.
  • A National qualification with 1, 2 or 3 year full-time courses available.
  • A Part-time course with different options possible

It is a flexible range of training options for those who feel called to a ministry among under twelves and their families.

As a Gap year … or Apprenticeship

You would come and work alongside an experienced children's worker, helping, and then leading under their guidance. A lot of emphasis is placed on your personal spiritual and professional development and a mentoring system would be in place. Accommodation is provided, as well as travel costs incurred in the work. You would go to children's ministry conferences, and be involved in mission and evangelism in children's work at both local and national events. On top of that, one day a week there would be a chance to study the theory of children's work and also some theological study to give the children’s work a good foundation, backed up by personal study.

As a National Qualification

Working with Springdale College, it is possible to study in this way for nationally recognised qualifications. One, two and three year courses are available, leading to Certificate, Diploma and Degree awards. These awards are validated by Middlesex University. Student loans would be available for students on the three year course.

The programme lays a Biblical and theoretical foundation for children’s work, giving a high priority to learning through experience. Students are placed in churches to work alongside an experienced children's worker.  They have lectures for 1 day per week plus time for personal study. They also have the opportunity to assist on camps and other national events.
